Local Consultations

A consultation event is being held to discuss proposed changes to vascular services in Merseyside and Cheshire.

The proposal is that two specialist arterial centres  would carry out the most complex type of vascular surgery, rather than at local hospitals.  The 2 specialist centres would be the Royal Liverpool and the Countess of Chester Hospital.

The consultation event will be held between 10am-2pm at Aintree Racecourse on 24 Feb. To book a place, contact 0800 085 1547 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Patients, carers and the wider public are being asked to help develop future services for people needing specialised NHS weight loss surgery across the North West.

Views are needed about the kind of services which should be offered to people with morbid obesity, and whether or not certain patients should be given priority above others.

They also want to know whether patients undergoing weight loss surgery (known as bariatric surgery) would be willing to travel further to have their operation at a centre in the North West, as long as they could have their follow-up appointments in settings nearer their homes.

An online survey has been set up to encourage people to have their say at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NYJ5PX3

The survey closes on 30 December 2011.
