People are being asked their views on the role of local HealthWatch, a new champion of people who use health and social care services.

Under the NHS White Paper, Liberating the NHS, Local Involvement Networks (LINks) will become HealthWatch. These will continue to involve people in improving health and social care services, but under the proposals, will support people in making complaints and choices about the services they receive. A new HealthWatch England will help to give patients and the public a voice at a national level.

The Department of Health is asking for people's views on the role of HealthWatch.

For details of the new proposals, and ways of giving feedback, see Establishing HealthWatch below.
